Nikolaos Raptis aka Quell ranges from mid tempo deep house and afro-beat house/techno, to straight up Chicago/SF jackin’ house. He has worked with labels such as Ibadan, These Days, Boddhi Satva’s Offering Recordings, Kolour Recordings and Blockhead Recordings to name but a few. Quell’s music is an amalgamation of images, sounds and nostalgia that derive from his perception of a universal “club sound”. Coming from an indie pop/rock background and having lived in London for a long time, since the tender age of 17, he was able to witness the flourishing worldwide dance movement of the late 90s and allowed himself to be exposed to a multinational musical collage that would later influence his art immensely. Quell is a DJ’s DJ. The words that would accurately describe his DJ performances are diversity, versatility and dance-floor perception. Magit Cacoon weaves together different styles using injections of house, techno and even soul. After a three-year residency at the formidable Sweat Lodge Radio, she realized the next natural step was to create a home for her own productions by founding a record label: Girl Scout was born. With a handful of releases so far and more to come, Girl Scout is the home for some of her tracks and remixes, as well as from friends such as P.Toile, Nunu, Astronivo, &Me, Nico Purman and Tigerskin. Add to this ecclectic line-up Mobilee’s GummiHz: Greek born, London bred DJ, and Berlin based producer and label owner Alexander Tsotsos a.k.a. GummiHz is at the forefront of a contemporary house movement heavily dressed in the authentic and raw trappings of the genres past. Since 2006, he’s been steadily serving his unique mixture of dance music on esteemed imprints like Mobilee, Real Tone, Ibadan records, Wolf + Lamb and more recently on own imprints Claap, Raw Instinct and C-EDITS. As if all this isn’t enough, catch the young and talented Dandy Digital himself aka Anders Åkergren, friend and collegue of Pär Grindvik, vicing it up together with former Gigolo-er Norman Methner. Rise! The basement Tresor Floor reverberates with some thunderous techno tonight: no Tresor birthday party would be complete without THE MAJOR DJ Rush. A favorite resident over the years in our home, he has thrilled clubbers internationally as well, and remains a true icon of the genre. For the special edition “It’s Not Over” Tresor Compilation Vol. 13 (Tresor.220) that coincided with the closing of the original Tresor club, Rush composed a special track dedicated to Tresor. Are you ready for his power? Tonight he faces off with Glasgowan Gary Beck who is regarded as one of the most prolific and inventive producers in the current electronic music scene. Renowned for his own unique sound, Gary Beck is currently in high demand all over the world playing at some of the most respected clubs. He can count on support from many of the biggest names in techno, including Pete Tong, Dubfire, Chris Liebing, Len Faki, Nic Fanciulli and Richie Hawtin. His style can be heard on labels such as Saved, Soma, Electric Deluxe, Drumcode and his own imprint Bek Audio. Add to this incredibly infectious line-up two of our dynamite residents 88uw and Ro, and you will find that this is an explosive Friday night Tresor style. Berlin style. Your style? Damn right.
