Chinese Laundry and Good Vibrations are very excited to announce the ultimate summer Garden Party featuring the legendary De La Soul on Sunday, December 14th, 2014.
One of the main headliners of the already sold out Meredith Music Festival, this will be De La Soul’s only Sydney sideshow and offer fans the chance to see the hip-hop icons in an exclusive club setting.
Hailing from Long Island, New York, the seminal trio formed at high school in 1987 and soon caught the attention of producer Prince Paul. In 1989, they released their debut album, ‘3 Feet High and Rising’, which would go on to catapult an entire genre onto the world stage.
De La Soul’s unique blend of jazz, funk and psychedelia, coupled with their insanely infectious lyrics and social commentary, made the group revolutionary. With classic tracks including Me, Myself and I, Saturdays, Ring Ring Ring and The Magic Number, it won’t be long before new and old fans alike will be bouncing and singing along in what will be a not to be missed Garden Party at Chinese Laundry.
De La Soul will be touring off the back of their much praised Glastonbury performance and the 25th anniversary of their historical debut album. De La Soul is made up of members Kelvin Mercer (Posdnuos, Mercenary, Plug Wonder Why, Plug One), David Jude Jolicoeur (Trugoy the Dove, Dave, Plug Two) and Vincent Mason (P.A. Pasemaster Mase, Maseo, Plug Three, Baby Huey).
If other Garden Parties at Chinese Laundry are anything to go by, De La Soul fans best be in line early to buy tickets.
