Having recently wrote a piece on the cultural relevance of Black barbers in London for the Voice Newspaper, Peckham’s own Conrad Kira has also recorded and produced a track entitled ‘Shape Up and a Fade’. Commissioned for CUT Festival: The Art of Barbering, the song is an anthem for all of those who make their weekly or bi-weekly trip to their local barber’s to get that immaculate trim.

Conrad Kira has also shared the video for ‘Shape Up and a Fade’, which features the emcee trekking to Blush Hair & Nails located in Camberwell. Directed by himself and Eve Mahoney, clips capture an authentic experience in full of fun and laughter. We should also mention that Kira himself leaves the place with a fresh cut. Have a look.
