You pretty much have to champion artists like Common because no matter how successful he gets, he still knows when it’s time to come back home. Here is his latest video “Sweet”. Don’t let the title fool you. This video isn’t shot in a nightclub with money flying in the air and champagne pouring all over the place. It’s more like the gritty streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti where Common flew down for a few days. He gets a bit aggressive on this No I.D. produced jam but the fact of the matter is, he’s basically saying what we all want to say in terms of what’s been happening in Hip-Hop music. This is living proof that Common has been true to his word when he’s mentioned in the past that he was down with the people!
