Rising singer James Millier is a talent that needs to be on everyone's radar. The Hampshire-based artist fuses a mixture of folk, pop and rock, fostering a sound that is truly special. Millier's has released the video for his latest track 'Brand New Start', which ironically can be representative of the current state of the world. Directed by Glen Jevon, the visuals were shot in the New Forest in Hampshire, and features James performing the tune surrounded by the gorgeous landscape. The track itself is quite epic in production, gripping the listener from start to finish.
As one half of one of the greatest bands ever, The Kills, not to mention a member of The Dead Weather, Alison Mosshart has brought forth her debut solo single titled 'Rise'. Produced by Lawrence Rothman and recorded in Los Angeles, the song has been released through Domino Records.
Two weeks ago we thought that The Weeknd had concluded his stream of videos for 'After Hours' which all added up to one big story revolving around the masquerade of success, addiction and love. The vid for 'In Your Eyes' found the Toronto crooner chasing a woman with a knife, which ultimately ended up with him getting his head chopped off his head off by an axe.
Birmingham grime emcee Jaykae has dropped the video for his latest track 'On Top'. The song is produced by A Class. In terms of the visuals, Jaykae troops around the ends with his crew whilst definitely going in with the bars. It should be noted that he is also being responsible by wearing a mask and gloves to protect himself against the threat of the coronavirus. As a matter of fact, almost everyone in the vid are wearing masks. Remember, safety over everything first! Have a look.
Philly producer Marshmello and Atlanta's trap king Southside come together for the song and video 'Been Thru This Before'. If the collab wasn't enough, they also enlisted the landlord himself, London rapper Giggs and Brooklyn's SAINt JHN to add their vocal touches to the bass-shaking tune. The video is directed by Myles Whittingham and features SAINt JHN and Giggs outside a cabin in the woods whilst surrounded by beautiful women. There is a scene where some of the women are stirring some weird green concoction, perhaps some elixir of sorts. Never the less you can peep the vid down at the bottom.
Outlaw country crooner Orville Peck makes his return with a video for his track 'Summertime'. Directed by Drew Kirsch and Taylor Fauntleroy, Orville, stepping out fresh in a leather jacket with collar tips and western boots with spurs, treads through a field and rips out a rose from the ground. Apparently even plants can get their payback as roots slowly emerge, wrapping around the singer and eventually engulfing him. Of course that doesn't stop Orville from at least playing and finishing the track!
London-based artist Marta Casanova aka MAVICA has shared the video to her latest single 'Ada Road'. Directed by Sofia Boriosi, the camera follows the Spanish singer as she ventures off into the ocean, taking in its natural magic until dawn, as the nightfall slowly makes its way.
Making his return with the track and video 'STRESSY' last month, Hanni El Khatib now unveils another vid, this time for the second single titled 'ALIVE'. What you have here is Hanni dressed up in a Sylvester the Cat costume whilst taking a fall down a very long set of outside steps. While you can pretty much place the metaphorical nature of the visuals to the track itself, we're just hoping that it only took Hanni one take to do that fall! 'ALIVE' is taken from his forthcoming album 'Flight', which is out May 15th on Innovative Leisure.
Hamburg-based band Kraków Loves Adana have shared the video to their latest single 'Young Again'. Directed by Ebba G. Ågren, the gorgeous visuals feature KLA vocalist Deniz Çiçek stylishly dressed whilst having to look at herself closely and re-examine the past, even though certain aspects evoke hurt and pain. The song itself is produced by Johnny Jewel. 'Young Again' is out on Italians Do It Better.
With his latest album 'After Hours' having reached Number 1, The Weeknd has unveiled another video, this time for the song 'In Your Eyes'. This is actually the continuation to his previous 'After Hours' short film, in which the 'In Your Eyes' picks up from the elevator scene. Going all Jason style with a butcher knife from 'Friday the 13th', The Weeknd has clearly chopped up the male counterpart to the female (played by Zaina Miuccia) in the elevator. She then runs out in the street trying to get away from the R&B crooner before ending up in a nightclub. What has become a full blown horror short, Miuccia ends up getting her revenge towards the end. Check it out.
