ColoRising Interview with Wy

Moody and dreamy; to fully appreciate the music of Wy is to be open to the true act of feeling. Their sound, a deeply lush and moving touch of indie and pop, is presented with honesty and sheer passion. Comprised of singer Ebba Ågren and Michel Gustafsson, the Malmö-based couple made their debut with the beautiful single ‘In Bloom’. The song would set the tone for their ‘Never Was’ EP, released in November of 2016 via Hybris Records. Highly praised among music critics, the 5-song record was an enchanting soundscape of dream pop shining with deep and personal lyrics.

Somewhere in between bursting indie pop and raw, pumping garage punk is where Canada's Mise en Scene sit, finely sewing all sounds flawlessly together. But unlike many, Milan Ring also plays by her own rules, not only operating as a business woman running her multi-medium company MXMAY but also through challenging the ideas and perceptions of femininity, gender roles and more.

ColoRising Mixes 30: Girls In Synthesis

If there is one group here to shake things up in music it's London's Girls In Synthesis. With a sound raging with punk fury, the group released their double A-side record 'The Mound/Disappear' in early March of this year. The band's energy hit like the impact of a bullet train at full speed with much of it properly translated at their live shows. After all, it isn't uncommon to see some of the members jumping into the crowd whilst playing. With the current political climate of the world seeming to spiral into a frenzy, the sound of Girls In Synthesis couldn't be needed more to cut through the current fluff floating about.
