To call producer and DJ Rui Da Silva a fixture in the world of house and dance music is an understatement. After all, this is a man who not only created the first dance label in the country of Portugal, as well as produce chart topping records, but his remix discography includes acts such as Jennifer Lopez, Nelly Furtado, and David Morales. Establishing himself as one of the most well rounded artists in the business, he continues to leave his mark as one of the most proficient producers, DJs, engineers, and writers today.
The word "fabulous" couldn’t fit the singer Ulla Nova more perfectly, as her titillating music and striking style creates the perfect marriage between contemporary and luxuriously classic. While the London based singer and performer possesses an air of mystery, her fashionable presentation evokes the very idea of what one would consider the epitome of glamour.
We Were Evergreen unveils the official video for their single "Daughters", which is out 3rd March. Directed by Dominique Rocher, the video concept was inspired by Zbigniew Rybczynski's 1981 animation "Tango". While theatrical in every sense of the word, the clip features multiple women moving around a set performing actions such as filling a bathtub manually, hanging a picture, cleaning, and even climbing out of a chest. Frantic indeed, We Were Evergreen delivers a great video to an excellent track. Check it out.
Minimalism meets what we perceived as "futurism of the 90s" graphic effects, in Glasser's new video "Shape". In a way, the concept of the video makes complete sense as Cameron Mesirow walks through a home with an emphasis on the squared tiling, tables, and windows, as well as the shape transforming of water. Eventually this computer generated liquid covers the entire house, and Glasser.
Chromeo gets everyone in a lively mood with the new funk pop treat "Come Alive" featuring Toro y Moi. The duo also announced the dates for their North American and European tour, beginning April 6th in Houston, TX and finishing June 6th in London at the Roundhouse.
As Defected Records prepare for the new Nick Curly "In The House" compilation, the London based label will drop "The Unreleased Remixes", a reworking of selected songs taken from Curly's 2012 album "Between The Lines". The recording features a remix of "Piano In The Dark" by producer Johnny D, not to mention two versions of "Wake Me Up" by Germany's Mathias Kaden. Nick Curly's "The Unreleased Remixes" is set to drop Jan. 13th 2014. You can preview the EP below.
Katy B delivers the official video for her latest single "Crying For No Reason". Stylistically shot with screen projectors and laser lights, the clip doesn't overdue it but remains clean and fitting for the track, with Katy looking as lovely as ever in red. The song is taken from Katy B's forthcoming second album "Little Red".
