Candi Staton is known for her 1976 disco classic “Young Hearts Run Free” which hit the top of the US and UK charts. She toured on the soul, disco and R&B circuit but beforehand, played gigs as a teenager singing in a gospel trio back in Nashville, Tennessee. Defected Records scored big with the Larse remix of Staton’s classic “Hallelujah Anyway” and decided to introduce a second pack including remixes from Ashley Beedle and David Penn.
