Bootblacks have brought forth a cutting slice of post-punk and cold wave with their latest track ‘Hold & Dissolve’. Dark with an intense driving of shifting synths, yet maintaining 4×4 drums to provide a dance element, the track takes a nod at the early work of Depeche Mode, yet fitting for the present day. ‘Hold & Dissolve’ is taken from Bootblacks’ upcoming LP Fragments, out September 14th via Manic Depression Records.
Touching on the cut, Panther MacDonald stated that basis of the tune is about “knowing you have to leave people behind, and how hard that is. And even though letting go is difficult, you can both find the time to remember someone while remembering that it’s not over yet.”
