After a lengthy hiatus, Arctic Monkeys deliver a new album and sound with their sixth LP Tranquility Hotel Base and Casino. Opting to try their hand at a bit more experimentation in the fashion on David Bowie and Serge Gainsbourg, with a bit of The Strokes thrown in there for good measure, gone are the revved-up blues rock meets punk sound of their earlier work, but rather replaced with a laid-back combo of smokey jazz, lounge and spacey art rock. Tranquility Hotel Base and Casino follows Arctic Monkeys 2013 LP AM. Virtually dropping no lead-up tracks to the record, only playing a few tracks live, the album is released via Domino Recording Company.
