As one half of one of the greatest bands ever, The Kills, not to mention a member of The Dead Weather, Alison Mosshart has brought forth her debut solo single titled ‘Rise’. Produced by Lawrence Rothman and recorded in Los Angeles, the song has been released through Domino Records.

Mosshart has also unveiled the official video ‘Rise’. Directed and edited by Alison herself, clips of classic lowriders rolling through the streets of L.A., are interwoven with shots of the singer and musician performing the tune. It’s no mystery of her love of car culture as Mosshart released the book CAR MA, which featured her art work and writings, a sort of ode to the automobile. The song itself is a slow-steaming and feisty handing of rock & roll with almost an outlaw feel to it. You can check out the video below.
