Having paved ground in the Portland scene for years, trio Blackwater Holylight relocated to Los Angeles for a fresh start. What has manifested is a forthcoming album titled Not Here Not Gone, set to land January 30th on Suicide Squeeze Records. Recorded in El Paso. the new work will get released on standard and limited edition deluxe vinyl, CD, as well as via DSPs. Blackwater Holylight have also unveiled their new single ‘Involuntary Haze’, which will be featured on the upcoming LP.

Fostering a hybrid of sound of grunge, doom, and shoegaze, ‘Involuntary Haze’ is a reflective piece that examines the wool being pulled over the eyes, mainly through one’s own mind. With crunchy guitar riffs plowing through the track, the single is not only punchy, but a great door kicking return for the outfit.

Touching on the song, guitarist Mikayla Mayhew stated:

“This song holds up a mirror to empty promises. Pretending there’s room for someone when your heart’s already full. It’s the moment you realize you’ve been fooled, not by anyone else, but by your own excuses.”
