It’s been five years since Speedy Ortiz dropped their 2018 album ‘Twerp Verse’. Since that time period there have been member changes in the band, changes in the US Presidency, UK Prime Minister changes, and of course, a change in the entire world thanks to a global pandemic! However with that said, Speedy Ortiz are back in full swing with a new single appropriately called ‘Scabs’.

With the chorus being “Don’t talk to me”, ‘Scabs’ is a rocking indie cut that can be interpreted as the calling out of someone amongst the powers that be or simply anyone who has no regard for life or others in it. Never the less, the tune is good…really good. It’s a pleasant return for the now Philadelphia-based group. Check it out.
