Today, Somalia born artist K’naan has released his latest EP “More Beautiful Than Silence” exclusively on iTunes. K’naan’s 2005 record “The Dusty Foot Philosopher” brought attention to the issues of Mogadishu as the emcee, who left the city as a teenager on the last commercial flight during the height of war, eventually settling in Toronto, Canada, vividly gave social commentary of some of the plaguing problems and his own battles of living in the East African country. K’naan exploded into stardom upon the release of his 2009 album “Troubador” which featured songs such as “Bang Bang” featuring Adam Levine of Maroon 5 and “Waivin Flag” which become the anthem for the 2010 World Cup.
“More Beautiful Than Silence” finds K’naan collaborating with fellow friends and artists Nas and Nelly Furtado as the release serves as a pre-cursor to his new upcoming album.
