Back in June of this year, Portland singer Haley Johnsen released her new album Goner, the follow-up to her 2019 LP Golden Days. In lead up to the record, Johnsen dropped a number of singles including ‘Higher’, ‘Common Ground’, and ‘Emily’. Having recently unveiled her latest track ‘RENEGADE’, Haley Johnsen now delivers the official video to the cut.

Directed by Maris Jones, Haley Johnsen visually travels back in time to pay homage to the 80s hair metal scene. With the beginning of the video featuring the singer stepping on a newspaper that reads “City In Despair. Who Will Save Us?”, eventually she transforms into an all out superhero-like glam rock heroine. Stylistically there seems to be a channelling of Bret Michaels from Poison. Never the less, the song is quite good and the visuals are definitely nostalgic. Have a look.
