Having released their ‘Heaven on Earth’ EP back in 2020, Stockholm trio Vero will drop their debut album Unsoothing Interior on May 6th, released via the PNKSLM label.
Vero have also unveiled their new single titled ‘Cupid’, the follow-up to their previous BEG! / Concrete 7″, which was released last month. Delivering an indie and punk hybrid with a dash of grunge, the group still manage to incorporate a pop chorus which creates a really nice balance to the punchy instrumentation.
Below is a stream of ‘Cupid’.
Touching on the track, Vero mentioned:
“Cupid was the first song we wrote that made the album. We had made a couple of demos before, but we weren’t loving them. They all sounded a bit too pretty and safe, so when the drums for Cupid were done, we took a guitar and started making these wheeling, chaotic noises, and that was it. That was the sound that set the tone for our album. The lyrics are a bit dream-like, it’s about lust and control.”
