London-based band SWEDISH DEATH CANDY have announced news on their forthcoming second album Are You Nervous?. Scheduled to land September 27th on Hassle Records, the LP was recorded at The Park Studios in Wembley. The follow-up to SDC’s 2017 self-titled debut album, the upcoming release delves into various sociological issues of the day.

Regarding the Are You Nervous?, SDC’s Louis Perry stated:

“Environmental issues, technological advances…it feels like we’re on the brink of massive change. So Are You Nervous? felt like an appropriate title…”

To coincide with the news, SWEDISH DEATH CANDY have shared their latest track ‘Modern Child’. A hard-rocking tune that revolves around the story of a child who is being taken cared of by robots, you can check out the song down at the bottom.

Touching on the single, Louis Perry mentioned:

“I’m a sci-fi fan and for me the best science fiction is generally a social commentary based in a futuristic universe. I feel like we’re living in that time. We aren’t far from the future that a lot of the classic sci-fi novels refer to. This story doesn’t feel that far fetched considering how large of an effect technology has on the youth of today.

My six year old sister can use computers and tablets like it’s second nature. The internet has had a huge influence on our upbringing, and even I can’t imagine what a modern child’s perception of technology is, considering that they’ve never lived without it.”
