London-based MF Tomlinson has shared his explosive single ‘Nature Boy’. Inspired by eden ahbez’s track with the same cut, the track is stacked with running piano riffs, beat-banging drums and 70s backing vocals that jump through the speakers. A powerful blast of cinematic soul, the tune features singer Connie Chatwin and flautist Ami Koda. MF Tomlinson at times incorporates Leonard Cohen-esque deliveries, making ‘Nature Boy’ one exciting package.
Regarding the song, MF Tomlinson stated:
“The song is a reckoning with the situation we find ourselves in… Growth and acceptance faces opposition from a sometimes heart-breaking reality. eden’s ‘Nature Boy’ maxim still rings true – it just seems in need of an update… We’re all the hero in our own stories – you could think about it as a theme song for a hopeful person in a fucked up world.”
