Bryan Ferry CBE really needs no introduction as his musical legacy is firmly cemented in the music industry since the release of his 1973 debut album ‘These Foolish Things’. In 2014 Ferry dropped his 15th studio LP ‘Avonmore’ which was welcomed quite warmly. Proving that an artist of his stature is still relevant in this fickle era of music, Bryan Ferry has called upon a slew of producers to remix ‘Avonmore’, making the record even more accessible across a wide range of genre. From the Leo Zero’s funky disco remix of ‘Loop Di Li’ to Hidden Orchestra’s cinematic restructuring of ‘Send In The Clowns’, Ferry appears to have covered all musical ground, appealing to day one fans and providing a warm welcome to those less familiar with his discography. More relaxing jazz-based downtempo bits are aided with upbeat and spacey house production, spreading across a whopping 20 tracks. Producers include Man Power, Prins Thomas, Beard Of Concern and Johnson Somerset – who lends his talent to a number of songs throughout the LP. Bryan Ferry has an understanding that music is forever shifting and changing, and judging by the Avonmore – The Remixes, he has no problem surfing the waves, no matter which way the tide turns.
Avonmore – The Remixes is out August 19th via BMG.
