San Francisco band Silent Pictures have released their new album Let it Begin. Stirring together psych, shoe gaze and garage, the 12-song LP is raw in delivery and spunky in instrumentation. Whilst the beauty of the album does explode through its gritty sonics, there is also flex and stretching moments that comes from the experience of playing for many years. In a way, Silent Pictures are letting loose with ease, as tracks effortlessly shift from raging guitar shredding and distortion on tunes like ‘Time Has Broken’ to delicate melodies on songs such as ‘Far From Reach’.
