With credits to her name including features and writing credits on Clean Bandit’s album, as well as her own critically acclaimed Waters EP released back in 2014, London singer/musician returns with her new single entitled ‘Wars’, taken from her forthcoming Run EP, landing in 2016. Exploding with a bolder and edgier sound that is filled with traces of post-punk, ‘Wars’ is delivered with the perfect amount of vocal control paired with instrumentation that is punchy but scaled back just enough. Shaddad is undoutedly going to create a blaze of fire with this one!
In a press statement regarding the single, Eliza Shaddad wrote:
“Wars is the gateway to this whole release, it was the first song written for the EP, and the first sign of this more brutal sound. We were playing it live as a band and it was getting louder and grungier and crashier each time and it felt so good that when it came to recording I just wanted it to kind of implode. Lyrically it’s about fighting to hold something in, and I think musically we’ve created something that really supports that – ethereal, almost eerily controlled vocals gliding over a bed of increasingly rolling turmoil. Best unleashed loud.”
