There are a couple of things to note when talking about the Italian band Black Box’s 1990 track “Everybody Everybody”. The first would be that it reached number 1 on the Hot Dance Club Play charts in the US that same year, literally for a few weeks. The other thing to note is that the band also got sued by Martha Wash of The Weather Girls who actually recorded vocals for the cut, not the French model Katrin Quinol who Black Box basically used as a ‘front’ woman for the video and their live shows. With that being said, this brings us to Hot Since 82’s reworking of the song which he transforms into a husky house tune. While the song suggests that it features Black Box, it’s actually the hook to “Everybody Everybody” that is weaved in throughout the track. Hot Since 82’s “Everybody” is out now on Knee Deep In Sound.
