U2’s “Ordinary Love”, which was written for the film “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom”, has been given a beautiful upbeat remake by Grammy Award winning producer Paul Epworth, whose credits include work with Adele, Paul McCartney, Florence and the Machine, Crystal Castles, and more. Ever so fitting after the loss of humanitarian, freedom fighter and former South African President Nelson Mandela, the celebratory rhythm creates a mood of hope and upliftment, something in which we shall all remember the charismatic Mandela for.
In a statement Bono of U2 wrote, “Nelson Mandela’s life and times meant more to me than I can ever tell you, I would need a hundred songs to do that…but this complicated little love song to Winnie and South Africa is the one that landed on our lap”.
