While Benin City takes their name from the Edo State capital in Nigeria, the band which is based in London, are gaining much attention with their song “Faithless”. The track is a mixture of electro, bass, rock and even dashes of kwaito. Lyrically dark at moments, the 4×4 drum kicks and streaking synths provides a brilliant contrast. Produced by Marc Pell and Benin City, “Faithless” plays with an energetic spirit similar to tunes by cutting edge acts such as Spoek Mathambo.

Forthcoming 10th June on Audio Doughnuts, the single will include remixes by Zed Bias, Marcel Lune and Slugabed.

Benin City’s debut album “Fires in the Parks” is out 1st July.
