Today is a great day because Dego’s 2000Black label has surfaced with new material. The collective consisting of Dego (4hero fame), Kaidi Tatham, Lordamercy and Akwasi Mensah apparently has an album brewing in the pot. While there is still little detail regarding information on the release, they have released three new tracks for free as a part of the “Freeness” series. Dego along with Marc Mac as 4hero, Kaidi Tatham and the collective coming out of North West London’s Dollis Hill were instrumental in helping to foster the future sound of nu-jazz and broken beat, yet having laid down a foundation in the drum and bass and 2-step scene. The crew managed to push the boundaries with the use of new technology as well as classic instruments creating a distinctive sound that has marked them as some of the best producers in electronic music.
