Annabel Allum Returns with ‘Rich Backgrounds’

Singer Annabel Allum has been one to watch since her sharing her song ‘Foxes’ a couple years back. Following-up with a series of brilliant alternative cuts including ‘Tricks’, which was released last summer via Killing Moon Records, Allum makes her return with the bold cut ‘Rich Backgrounds’. Produced by Adrian Hall, the song shoots with energy as the spicy electric guitar riffs streak about as Annabel Allum drops feisty vocals, punchy and edgy. This is definitely a massive return for the promising artist.

Touching on the track Annabel Allum wrote:

“‘Rich Backgrounds’ was the easiest track to write on the EP. It came out in one, which rarely happens for me. It started out as an alcohol-induced jam, it was kind of sarcastic but then I started to find a lot of enjoyment out of playing it. It’s not necessarily ragging on rich people, but more rich attitudes. I wanted to bring those kids back down to earth a bit – yes you may have all the materialistic un-necessities, but do you have all the un-materialistic necessities? Stripped bare, could you survive? Mental demeanour, a slight bitterness and the idea that paper is not truth.”

‘Rich Backgrounds’ is out now on Killing Moon Records.
