London punk band Big Joanie have shared a new cover version of the Solange track 'Cranes In The Sky', which is taken from a 7" release featuring the song 'It's You', out August 14, 2020 on Third Man Records. Completely giving the original version into a soul meets punk makeover, a husky guitar riff, funky bass line and tender drums are the meat and potatoes of the production, effectively laying as a firm bed to the complimenting vocals of Stephanie Phillips.
The Calvin Klein team have enlisted a star-studded cast for their #mycalvins campaign. Shot by Willy Vanderperre, the ad campaign features Solange, Dev Hyneas, Kelela, Caroline Polachek of Chairlift and Kindness. The musicians are seen sporting pieces which include the western denim shirt, CK trucker jacket and the modern bralette. Lensed in a barn which adds to the setting, you can shop the collection over at the Calvin Klein website.
Following her recently released album 'A Seat At The Table', Solange has shared the two videos to her track 'Don't Touch My Hair' and 'Cranes In The Sky'. Directed by Alan Ferguson and Solange herself, both stylishly shot videos combine culture, fashion and beauty, with various clips filmed in gorgeous locations. The creative direction is also handle by Solange Knowles, along with photographer Carlota Guerrero who shot the album cover and the imagery in the accompanying digital book.
