Preview the Forthcoming Sisters & Brothers Compilation ‘Second Gathering’

The hfn label will release the second edition of their Sisters & Brothers compilation series on May 4th titled 'Second Gathering'. Curated by Kasper Bjørke and Sexy Lazer, the record picks up from the previous 'First Gathering' comp, exploring some of the more experimental sides of electronica and dance. Comprised of five songs, artists featured on 'Second Gathering' include Rodion and Local Suicide, Fufanu, mode_alone, Russian Girls, as well as Andi. A varied collection of obscure indie dance, electro, acid and more, you can preview the tracks down at the bottom.

Rodion & Local Suicide Gear Up for the Release of Their ‘Abu Dhabi / True Love Floats’ EP

Italian composer Rodion is one the kings of the nu-disco movement. Having pumped out some of the best tracks in the scene, his spacey production links sexy grooves of today with classic elements of the Italo movement. Linking up with Brax Moody and Vamparela of the Berlin-based group Local Suicide, the trio are set to release their 'Abu Dhabi / True Love Floats' EP on September 1st via My Favorite Robot Records. The pack includes a remix of 'Abu Dhabi' courtesy of Los Mekanikos, with Moscoman and Fairmont each providing their freaky dance floor version of 'True Love Floats'. Ultimately what you have here is a combination of body jacking rhythms contrasted with dark, hedonistic 4x4, all guaranteed to bring out the freaky side in all of us.

Rodion Set to Release ‘Generator’ LP

For years we have dubbed Italian musician Rodion as one of the kings of the nu-disco scene. The classically trained pianist who released his 'Romantic Jet Dance' album back in 2007 on Gomma, has also dropped a slew of singles including a few records with fellow Italian disco conneseur Bottin. On April 1st, Rodion will release his new LP 'Generator' on Nein Records. Consisting of ten tracks in total, the album features Rome-born Rodion exploring further aspects of space-out disco, iced with pure hedonism. Dark, skittering effects are intertwined with freaky synth playing, often times seeming suitable for treks to outter space or all-night party sessions at the Playboy mansion. What remains at a high throughout the LP are the compositions and arrangement themselves.
