Pop star Harry Styles is no stranger to the Gucci brand, having previously worked with the company. The singer and musician now makes his return as the face of the new Gucci Tailoring campaign. Shot by Harmony Korine and art directed by Christopher Simmonds, Styles finds himself lenses among ancient statues and animals, as the collection embodies a 70s glamour.
Gucci and Frieze Magazine come together for a collaboration film titled 'Into a Space of Love', which documents the roots of New York City house music. Directed by Wu Tsang, the four-part series with an original score by Asma Maroof, 'Into a Space of Love' will be shown in Gucci Wooster’s screening room on the 10th of May. For their Guilty fragrance campaign, the folks over at luxury brand Gucci have created a video starring Jared Leto and Lana Del Rey, who portray a couple living and loving life together in all its glory. Filmed in Los Angeles, the Glen Luchford-directed visuals depict a late 60s vibe with the two stars literally enjoying doing some of the more basic things of life such as grocery shopping, laundry and even having a picnic in the park. Held at the Le Palace Theatre in Paris, Alessandro Michele presented the new spring/summer 2019 collection by Gucci. A cross pollination of 60s glamour with a flower power undertone of the decade, the show was also a blurring of the lines of gender. With the soundtrack consisting of songs such as Brahms Symphony No.3, Op.90, there was even a live performance of 'Baby Alone In Babylone' by Jane Birkin.
In the 1980s Harlem's Dapper Dan's clothing was one of the most in-demand among everyone ranging from rappers, singers, gangsters and just your average guy or girl who wanted to feel a taste of glamour. Reworking Gucci prints and crafting attire with a street edge, by 1992 Dapper Dan was forced to closed down his shop due to a lawsuit brought upon him for copyright infringement. Filmed in Tokyo, the iconic punk-driven choreographer stylishly trek around the city performing in Love hotels and bath houses. Clark gives insight on his life regarding leaving Scotland and not fitting with the masses when he was younger. This fashion film is directed by Johnny Hardstaff, with the Chloé's 'Recall' featuring Ben Shemie played throughout the video.
