Oh Baby is the duo consisting of distant cousins Rick Hornby and Jen Devereux. Based between London and Manchester, their sound is inspired by 70s and 80s synth-pop, post-punk, disco, avant electronica and more, yet blended in an alchemic way, fostering something that is quite distinct and interestingly unique to them.
London/Manchester pair Oh Baby have shared their new track 'I Need Somebody To Love Tonight'. Drawing inspiration from the 70s disco era, the tune is a glam-driven cover of the late producer Patrick Cowley's track, which was featured on his 1979 LP 'Stars'. Oh Baby's rendition drips with the hedonistic spirit of Studio 54, yet layered with post-punk and industrial trimmings that make for quite the sexy listening experience.
Das Beat is the duo comprised of actress/vocalist Eddie Rabenberger and Agor of Blue Hawaii. Formed in 2020, the pair have unveiled a video to the title track of their forthcoming EP 'Identität'.
Austin-based singer Molly Burch launches into 2021 with her new single 'Emotion' featuring Wild Nothing. Upbeat and utterly grooving, the production encompasses a disco sound built on atmospheric synths, a funky bass line and 4x4 drum kicks. Burch's easing vocals lay beautifully atop the lush instrumentation.
South London-based group FYI Chris are slated to drop their forthcoming EP 'Black Dragon Loop' on November 13th. The record is the follow-up to their 2019 EP 'Elephant Road'. Comprised of three songs, the new work finds the duo weaving between the sounds of post-punk, electronica and house.
Bristol outfit step forth with their new single 'Somebody To Get Shy With' featuring Bad Sounds. The track follows the band's previous tunes 'Can’t We Just Be Friends Again' and 'Go Out'. Icelandic/Norwegian group Ultraflex are slated to release their debut album 'Visions of Ultraflex', out October 30th. Inspired by the sounds of disco, the pair dropped the lead single 'Olympic Sweat' back in May of this year. Now Ultraflex step up with their second offering entitled 'Work Out Tonight'. Tapping into more of an 80s R&B meets glam pop vibe, the single is a glistening and sultry piece that makes you want to dance at a pool party with a cocktail in one hand during a warm summer day.
French trio Keep Dancing Inc have released their new EP 'Silent & Satisfied'. Comprised of four tracks, the band have created a tasty blend of 80s synthpop, new wave, disco and more, fostering a sound packed with flair that is not only Parisian sexy but insanely grooving at the same time. The EP follows Keep Dancing Inc's previous release 'Long Enough', which they dropped back in June.
Berlin-based Wayne Snow and Parisian producer Darius come together yet again for another collaboration. Their latest song is a disco-driven track titled 'Equilibrium'. In Darius fashion, the production glistens with sharp, spacey synths and thumping, 4x4 kicks. Wayne Snow delivers hands in the air vocals, giving the single that extra dose of soul.
Essex trio Rayowa have released their new EP 'Keepin' Me Under'. Out via Mahogany Recordings, the four-track record revisits the sounds of 70s glam disco, previously laid down by giants such as Nile Rodgers. Splashed with grand vocals and even horn sections, the EP provides that nostalgic feeling for those who frequented clubs like New York City's Studio 54 during the genre's golden era.
