North London’s Desperate Journalist Share Their New Single ‘Resolution’

North London band Desperate Journalist have been quite the talk since releasing their Christina EP back in 2013. Dropping their self-titled debut LP two years later, the band perfectly found a sweet spot between post-punk rage, refined indie and striking melodies spruced with a goth-like tinge.

With their second album Grow Up set to get released on the 24th of March via Fierce Panda, the group have shared their new single entitled ‘Resolution’. Raising the levels even higher than before with pristine production of alt-rock that jumps out of the speaker, the balance of Jo Bevan’s vocal work is a true audible delight.

Touching on ‘Resolution’, Desperate Journalist wrote:

“The countdown to midnight was dramatized massively by the band we were watching (as is standard), and I couldn’t escape fixating on teenage thoughts like: how many cliched repetitive conversations/Fun Times you have with people on Significant Days of the Year, how emotionally awkward the midnight kiss was for so many of us, the people making big pointless romantic gestures, and the general warm frenzy of everyone else from the weird cold bubble of where I was. So broadly speaking, the song is about being detached and overstimulated.”
