Australian singer Hayden Calnin has been creating lush and moving music for a number of years now. Releasing his ‘City’ EP back in 2012 as well as 2012’s ‘Oh, Hunter’ EP, Calnin drop his ‘Cut Love Pt. 1’ ‘Pt. 2’ albums in 2016 to wide acclaim. Returning with another epic and beautiful offering is his latest single ‘Waves’, which deals with the topic of mental health. The track is taken from Calnin’s forthcoming EP Dirt, out this summer. ‘Waves’ finds the Melbourne singer and producer further expanding his vibrant tones over a wider palette, producing stunning results.

Touching on ‘Waves’ Hayden Calnin wrote:

“‘Waves’ was written for a good friend and became my interpretation of what was going on in that friend’s head whilst battling severe mental health issues,” I wasn’t always able to be there to help them through it and the song evolved into somewhat of an ode to me being a bit of a shit friend when they really needed someone around. I wanted to let that friend know I’m always thinking of them.”
