Whilst the competition for the 2014 Barclaycard Mercury Prize was tight, this years award went to the Scotland-based group Young Fathers for their album Dead. Their LP beat out FKA twigs’ LP1, Damon Albarn’s Everyday Robots and Bombay Bicycle Club’s So Long, See You Tomorrow, just to name a few.

The event was held at the Roundhouse in London and hosted by Alice Levine and Nick Grimshaw. Coverage of the event was aired on 4oD.
