It is time for an announcement that might seem nostalgic at its core, yet looks to the future with boundless optimism: Berlin Festival is moving! Not to Hanover, but to Kreuzberg and to the exciting venue surrounding and including Club der Visionäre and Arena, Hoppetosse and White Trash – to what we have come to name Arena Park (you can check the following link for a visual area map). It will prove to be only half a move, though, since our programme from midnight to the wee hours of the morning has already been taking place at Arena under the guise of Club Xberg in the past. But what we’re dealing with here is the beginning of a thrilling new era.

Berlin Festival might have been the open-air event which proved that Tempelhof airport is an exciting event location. However, we can promise you this: whatever is lost with the airport backdrop will be gained in Berlin flair. Don’t get us wrong, we love Tempelhof. It is a special place where we have experienced many wonderful moments. With our new concept, offering you a non-stop, 48-hour programme, the Arena Park is the perfect location for us.

In the middle of an area, which has increasingly become a magnet for party folks from all over the world, the Arena Park is more than we could have expected: with the beach and pool atmosphere offered by the Badeschiff pool, the smashing White Trash, the truly chilled Club der Visionäre, the much loved Glashaus, Arena Club, Hoppetosse venues and not forgetting, of course, the Arena Berlin itself, the Berlin Festival will be more diverse, wild and adventurous.

The new Berlin Festival will also boast two outdoor stages, of course (Splash! Mag Stage and Badeschiff). The festival’s fringe events will not only remain as announced but will be expanded. In addition to art installations, poetry and performance, our beloved Art Village will see its culinary counterpart this year – the Food Village. There will also be no changes to the line-up. All confirmed artists will appear as advertised. Further events and acts will be announced in the the coming few weeks.

We’re looking forward to seeing you and the new face of Berlin Festival!
