Benjamin Clementine “Condolence” Video

benjaminvid

While numerous artists purposely aim at instant online stardom, Benjamin Clementine’s story seems almost misplaced in the current age of YouTube sensations. From vacating London to becoming homeless in Paris, where he began busking to earn money, down to playing Burberry’s spring/summer 2015 menswear show, his journey taken as an artist is that which past greats such as Edith Piaf were forced to travel, and avoided by 90 percent of acts today. Yet the self-taught pianist, guitarist and singer from London evokes a passion and style similar to that of Nina Simone, ultimately placing him a position to stand out among many of his contemporaries.

for his latest video “Condolence”, Benjamin Clementine walks among a scenic landscape of mountains before finding himself back on the streets of London. Shot in black and white, “Condolence” is directed by Zachary Spiger. The track is taken from Clementine’s forthcoming “Glorious You” EP, out August 25.
